September 13, Welcome and Membership Tea

This is a chance for new as well as existing members to enjoy a casual but informative meeting.  Guest speakers Sharon Wilson, Phillip Burn, and Vicky Johnson from DHQ in Dallas remind members about the importance and history of The Salvation Army.

October 11, Dr. Rogers Coleman on “Volunteerism”

Dr. Coleman is on our Advisory Council and is active in many charities here in Granbury.  Among them are Ruth’s Place where he offers his services free of charge to all who need medical assistance.  

November 8, Vicki Johnson ,  “Planned Giving”

Mrs. Johnson offers her advice on how to set up a schedule for planned giving as well as other information on planned finances.  She even will do home visits to talk to family members.

December 13, Christmas luncheon 

This will be a special time for all members to enjoy lunch and be entertained by the Melody Bells.  Members attending will be asked to bring an unwrapped toy donation for Christmas for Children.  A set menu will be $13 and reservations are necessary for December only.

January 10, Mike McMahon,Opportunity House 

This is a Christian transitional housing ministry in Hood County.  People who find themselves without a place to live and are in need of assistance to get back on their feet seek help.  Mr. McMahon will explain its history and its success in this endeavor. 

February 10, Friday, Annual Fundraiser

“Charities on the Runway” is the theme for the 3rd year.  It gives all of the charities in Hood County a chance to participate in the style show and enjoy a special lunch.  Guests as well as members are invited to make contributions through the Silent Auction and personal donations.  Ticket price is $40 per person. 

March 14, Membership Tea

This is a meeting to reflect on greeting new members and encouraging others to get involved in our many projects.

April 11, Shelly Munsey from Ada Carey Center for Abused Women and Children 

This center is under the umbrella of Mission Granbury and caters to abused women and children.  There are several homes especially set aside for them to feel safe and get back on their feet.  There will also be a vote on new officers

  • January 12th – Disaster Training, Ministry of Presence (Probably Joshua Mosley) February 9th – Fund Raiser March 8th – Kylee Peterson, Hood County Children’s Charity April 12th – Rainbow Room  not sure who will come and speak yet) May 10th –   Would like to have someone from Salvation Army, don’t know who that might be, need to verify we do have a program that month
